ACHILLE ET DEIDAMIE

The dancers, both male, are James Harvey d'Egville (c. 1770-?) as Ulysses and Andre Jean-Jacques Deshayes (1777-1846) as Achilles.  This print depicting a performance at the King's Theatre, London, on January 31, 1804, is especially important in that it is one of the earliest pictorial examples of a ballet lift.
