Guide to Greek Usage in Cataloging

CATalog Note

Ordinal numbers speak of order and are thus, a common feature in serials. You will note the ordinals presented here all end in -ος. As you refer to this list, remember that ordinal number forms in serials will inflect to match what is being described. The inflected endings for ordinal number forms are: -ο, -η,-ος. In number and letter form they will appear as 1ο, 15ος, or 23η depending on the gender of the word being described.
