Series Statements and Series Headings
A series statement is transcribed from the chief source for the series and may include statements of responsibility and parallel titles. The series statement may or may not include numbering.

The series heading is formulated to be a unique, uniform heading to apply to all items in the series. While it often consists only of a title proper identical to the series statement, it may be a name/title heading or it may require a qualifier to distinguish it from other series of the same name. Qualifiers may be a place of publication, a corporate body, a date, or an edition statement. The type of qualifier is based on what most appropriately distinguishes the titles from one another.
