3.  Bunker Hill, Los Angeles: Reminiscences of Bygone Days.
Palm Desert, CA: Desert Southwest, Inc., 1964.

In 1955, the city embarked on an ambitious urban renewal campaign to raze the rundown Bunker Hill area for private redevelopment. Realizing that an era was about to end, Politi painted the deteriorating Victorian mansions as they would have appeared in their heyday. The Bunker Hill district is now dominated by high-rise office towers, but visit Angel's Walk to get a sense of how old and new mingle there now. Politi sold his Bunker Hill canvases to the city of Los Angeles in 1965, and they are on deposit at the Central Library, where they were exhibited in 2009.
