Authors before 1801 (RI22.1B)

Prefer the form of name found in modern reference sources in the person's language. Understand modern reference sources to include modern books about the author, and new title pages of modern editions or reprints of the author's works. The purpose is to determine the currently-used form of the author's name. Generally, use the predominant or fullest form found.
