Program in African-American Studies records

Consists of course proposals and descriptions, proposals for a post-doctoral
program, and meeting minutes and correspondence of the interdepartmental
committee. The origin of the bulk of the correspondence is committee member
Professor Steve Slaby. Much of it pertains to the appointment of new program
chairman Cornel West in 1987-88. Also included in the collection is a report to
the Rockefellar Foundation describing the Program's graduate and faculty
research from 1970-1977. Also includes a compilation of Program in African
American Studies Memoirs.
