Sidney Lapidus ’59 gift to Princeton University Library opens digital access to collection of rare Revolution-era books and publications
Sidney Lapidus ’59 has donated a collection of rare Revolution-era books and publications to Princeton University as part of the Venture Forward campaign, enabling Princeton University Library (PUL) to greatly enrich the Sid Lapidus ’59 Collection on Liberty and the American Revolution.

New PUL fellowship program aims to address racial and ethnic disparities in the library & information science field
Princeton University Library (PUL) announced today the PUL Early Career Fellowship Program. In collaboration with Princeton University’s Office of the Provost and North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Library and Information Sciences (SLIS), the program creates eight fellowship opportunities aimed at recent graduates of NCCU SLIS over the course of the next four years.

ReCAP adds millions of volumes from Harvard to shared collection
Over three and a half million volumes held by Harvard University have been added into the Discovery to Delivery Program of the Research Collections and Preservation Consortium (ReCAP), a partnership between Columbia University Library, The New York Public Library (NYPL), Princeton University Library (PUL), and Harvard Library. Users of all four libraries will be able to access the shared collection, now numbering nearly 17 million volumes, as though those items were in their own library.

Marquand Library of Art and Archaeology temporarily closes March 15-21, relocating to Firestone Library
From March 13-21, Marquand Library is temporarily closed. All services, including scanning, will be unavailable and transferred to Firestone Library's Scribner Library and West Atrium Reading Room, located on C-floor.

Online access to millions of books from PUL's print collection resumes through HathiTrust emergency access service
In response to COVID-19, the Emergency Temporary Access Service, provided by HathiTrust Digital Library, has made millions of books from Princeton University Library's print collection available for all Princeton students, faculty, and staff.

William Noel appointed Associate University Librarian for Special Collections at Princeton University Library
William Noel has been appointed as the inaugural John T. Maltsberger III ’55 Associate University Librarian for Special Collections at Princeton University Library (PUL). He joins Princeton from the University of Pennsylvania Libraries where he has been Associate Vice Provost for External Partnerships, Director of the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts, and Director of the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies.

Engineering, Lewis, Fine Hall to begin renovations January 2020
Lewis Library's Fine Hall Wing will temporarily close to undergo an interior renovation, and the Engineering Library will relocate to the Lewis Library after commencement in 2020.

New integrated search enhances access to Library and Museum collections
Continuing their joint efforts to serve the needs of global researchers and scholars, the Princeton University Library and Princeton University Art Museum have launched an integrated discovery capability allowing users to search both institutions’ collections from a unified location. Visitors conducting searches on the Library website will now see objects from the Museum’s collections included in the search results.

Mudd Manuscript Library will temporarily close 2020-2021 to undergo a renovation
Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library, home to the Princeton University Archives and a collection of 20th-century public policy papers, will temporarily close from March 2020 through January 2021 to undergo a renovation to its first floor and internal systems.

Starting Aug. 20, Lewis Science Library doors to close at 4 pm on weekdays & all day on weekends; PUIDs required

New "Papercut" Print Management System!
All library printers are now managed by the "Papercut" print accounting system. This system helps reduce the amount of paper wasted with accidental printing. When a document is printed to a Papercut-managed queue, the document will not print until it is released at any of the PRINT RELEASE STATIONS in the library. New Library Catalog Launched
Initially released as a beta service in the spring of 2016, this new catalog is the result of a two year effort to improve and eventually replace our twenty-year-old Main Catalog and incorporate the best features of contemporary library search technology. The catalog is available at https://pulsearch.princeton.edu and is also directly available from the main search box on https://library.princeton.edu under the heading “New Catalog”.
