Voyager Acquisitions Serials Check-inII. Creating a componentIf, when you search Serials Check-in, no results are found, then a component needs to be created for the title. Let’s search the title CLA journal. There are two ways to begin creating a component, and your supervisor will determine which is the best way as part of your workflow. Now we can create a component for CLA journal.
When the title comes up, highlight it, click Ok and then click on the Search button. Double click on the line item, and the purchase order screen will appear. Be sure that the Quick line item button on the tool is OFF. Highlight the line on the purchase order, and you will see the Details and Marc buttons become active. Click on Marc and get the frequency from the Bibliographic screen and the designator from the holdings screen. [Quarterly; vol., no., year, mo. (single)] Click on the Details button and a Line Item screen will appear. Look for the green tab on the right marked Type. Click on Type and the screen will display the Line Item type and a button marked Subscription Pattern When you click on Subscription Pattern, Voyager will open Subscription Maintenance and a Component pattern form will appear, and you should click on the button marked New. The component name will be filled in; here is where you type in a check-in note, if you need one. The check in title box should remain checked, and the category should remain basic. We will continue not using the Create Items box. Click Save, and the other tabs will become active, so you can choose Predictive component pattern. Choose the relevant Publication Pattern Model, and click Start prediction. Click okay. Now when you click on the yellow serials check in card and search the title, your component will appear and you can check in your issue.
